Touring schools nationally from October 2011.

The Buzzed, a hard-hitting drugs awareness play from Cherwell Theatre Company, is now taking bookings from secondary schools for its new tour, taking place during October and November 2011.

The play sets out the story of 13 year old Charlotte who meets her older self at 17 and 22 years of age.

Originally conceived in collaboration with Thames Valley Police and Cherwell District Council, The Buzzed has already successfully played to audiences of over 100,000 young people, and was adopted as the centrepiece of Northamptonshire County Council's Drugs Education Programme.

Audiences follow Charlotte's travels through a life of desires and addictions from seemly innocent chocolate and ice-cream to her teenage years of indulging in smoking and drinking, before she finally experiences the 'ultimate buzz' of heroin.

Today, this successful production has been updated for a 2011

audience, complete with a new set design, music and all-new

cast. Already in the midst of its Spring tour, Cherwell Theatre
Company is now taking bookings for the Autumn tour of
'The Buzzed'. Aimed at Year 7 to Year 9 students, the play links

in to the curriculum through PHSE studies and drugs awareness

programmes.

As writer/director Nasser Memarzia comments "Those who

witness, at first hand, what addiction can do to others, are

least likely to fall victim to drugs. Powerful and believable

drama can be as effective as a real life experience in forming

attitudes".

Secondary schools are invited to make their booking now to

ensure their inclusion on the 2011 tour.
